Jacopo Morini

Born in 1987, he began studying the saxophone as an autodidact in 1999. In 2008, he began his academic studies by enrolling at the Musical Institute “F. Vittadini”, Pavia, where he got the degree.

He has participated in seminars and masterclasses held by leading figures from the world of music such as Walter Prati (“Musica senza confini – percorsi di improvvisazione musicale contemporanea”), Claudio Lugo and Umberto Petrin (“Together-Alone – l’atto individuale nell’improvvisazione collettiva”) and Roberto Genova.

In 2008 he founded (along with Stefano Boverio) the “Midnight Saxophone Quartet”, and he has held many concerts in Northern Italy in both national and international festivals. Since 2010 he has played in the “Vittadini Saxophone Ensemble” of the Musical Institute “F. Vittadini”, which took part in the 10th Edition of the Festival dei Fiati”, Novara, and other events not only at local level. He also collaborated with the ”Orchestra dei Fiati di Crema”, with the choir “San Colombano”, with the orchestra “In Crescendo” and with the orchestra “LaVerdi per tutti”. With the latter he participated in the execution of George Gershwin’s “An American in Paris” and Dmitri Shostakovich’s “Suite for Variety Orchestra”.

Since 2015 he has collaborated with the “Clarysax Quartet”, directed by Sergio Piva. With Clarysax Quartet he attended some prestigious events like Biennale Italia – Cina in Turin and Expo Milano 2015. Always in the framework of Clarysax, he usually participates to music and dance performances with the artist Silvia Rastelli.

At the same time, in 2015 he got his PhD in Genetics, Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Pavia.
