Paolo D’Aloisio

Born in Sanremo in 1989, he graduated in saxophone at the Musical Institute “F. Vittadini” of Pavia in 2014, with Luca Segala. He attended masterclasses and seminars such as “Jazz Saxophone Masterclass” with Roberto Rebufello in 2011, ” Musica senza confini – percorsi di improvvisazione musicale contemporanea ” held by Walter Prati in 2012 and “Chioggia Summer Jazz Workshop”, this last one as a student and assistant of the American saxophonist John Ellis. He also studied with Andres Villani, Marco Reghezza and Giulio Visibelli.

From 2008 until 2010 he was the 1st tenor sax in the big band “Sarabanda”, playing mainly in the province of Imperia. Since 2009, he has been leader of the jazz/rock band “Attention Slap”, active in northern Italy. Since 2010 he has been playing in the “Midnight Saxophone Quartet”: with the Midnight Saxophone Quartet he played in a lot of concerts like “Notte Bianca” and “Festival dei Saperi”, “Giornata Europea della Musica”, “Giornata del Patrimonio”, and many others.

In the same year he performed with the “Vittadini Saxophone Ensemble”, playing many concerts in different contexts like the 10th edition of the “Festival dei Fiati”, Novara. In 2013 he was playing in the Vittadini’s big band conducted by Andres Villani. In 2014 he won the “International Competition for Percussionists and Drummers  PercFest 2014”, with the jazz/fusion “MasPaCo” Trio led by drummer Massimo Palmirotta.

He has worked with the organist George Revelli, playing concerts in the province of Imperia, then as a session-man in the indie/rock band “News For Lulu”, and with the singer-songwriter Anthony Moon (UK). Since 2015 he has been collaborating with “Terlingo-Sacchi Blues Quintet” and with the jazz quintet “A Cold Fusion”.

Today he is attending the last year of the 2nd year of the Biennio Interpretativo at the ISSM “F. Vittadini” and collaborates as a teacher with the Accademia Musicale “G. Rossini” in Voghera.

In 2012 he got a Bachelor Degree in Political Sciences at the University of Pavia.
